It smells even more heavenly than it looks

Mimosa2, originally uploaded by journeymama.

I have always loved this tree, and I love it even more, now that Kid A has taken to picking one of its flowers every day for my hair.  Also since I have begun to think of not seeing it all the time.

Lovely photo. Never knew what a mimosa looked like til I moved to the south. I'm so glad to live in a state where they grow- most of them wild along the side of the road. They're so purty! We don't have lilacs here though, my favorite flowers as a child. Just goes to show you that there's beauty to be found in creation no matter where you live. We'll have to start praying now that after your move you'll find something beautiful growing nearby to further this sweet tradition with Kid A.

Sure sounds like you're having to let go of some beautiful surroundings and precious people. Kind of like grieving a loss, isn't it? Change can be so hard.

Beautiful. I had never seen one of those before. Wrong continent... Now if only we could have smell on the internet...

I had no idea that these trees bloomed. That is so cool. Even cooler you're getting flowers picked for your hair. How sweet is that?

I'm pretty blessed to be getting the flowers for my hair, I know. The cool thing about mimosas is that I guess they grow all over the world. Hopefully I'll see them in my next home. If not, there's always bourgainvilla.

That picture is a dream. I saw it several days ago and was entranced enough to think about it as I fell asleep last night.
