Hey Mom,





This one is Kid A's... he drew a bird and a rainbow bird and the ocean and a dolphin, because he wanted to draw things that he knew you liked.  If you look really closely on the left hand side of the waves, there is a tiny surfer.  There is also a shark about to eat a fish on the right.


The block letters are his first. He wanted to be sure that you liked rainbows, and I assured him you did.



YaYa drew the sky full of birds...



She drew herself and her brothers (not the littlest) on grass, and she wrote Happy Birthday Grandma.  Notice the beautiful ladybug on the grass.  I love it.



And, um... I won't be quitting my day job to become an illustrator any time soon...

I love you so much Mom... I hope you have the happiest birthday ever.

Thanks for the wonderful, wonderful cards. I wrote to Kid A, YaYa and Leafy on email, but did not get to this post to write. I headed for the Vancouver area yesterday really early and did not get back until midnight. Crazy ferry rides! There we celebrated uncle Gregor's new marriage and hung out with Auntie Rachel - Uncle Gregor's wife.

I love the cards, please keep them for me so that I can bring them home when I come to see you in November, okay? Kid A thanks for the picture of the birds and the orca and dolphin, I really liked the swimmer and the shark eating the fish! Kenya I loved your pictures as well. Thanks for the one with all the birds - you know how grandma loves birds, don't you! From Leafy, I always get, "I love you gramma" when I phone, so that's my birthday gift from him. You really made my day with those cards! Grandpa went out and got me a coffee (from Serious Coffee - shot in the dark), a card, and a flowering miniature rose, first thing in the morning.
