This distant (rapidly approaching) future.

I just got a group email from my good friend in San Francisco who is the pastor of a church there. This is what it said: (paraphrased)

"Chinua will be leading worship this Sunday, June 4. Does anyone want to play drums or bass?"

It's good that just an hour or so ago, Chinua mentioned the possibility of going down to San Francisco this weekend. I'm glad I didn't get the email first. All I can say is, at least I'm finding out now and it's only Tuesday. In the past I haven't always been so lucky. We just sometimes forget to talk to each other about these things.

The question is, can I go? I don't know what I've done to myself. I just got back from LA and I have to finish getting this art booth ready for the weekend after next. Not so hard until you figure the three young children into the picture. And the fact that immediately after the Harmony festival we have a wedding to attend (Chinua's playing music) and then we head off to the Rainbow Gathering in Colorado for a month. I look off into the hazy distance of the next month and a half and I shiver.

But here we are, taking it one (giant) step at a time.

My friend Sheri emailed over a photo of my finished painting from last week so very quickly. Here it is: (If you click on it, it will become a lot larger.)
