The pad

I have just a few pictures of our house for you right now. We are in this interesting time right now where we are living with a lot of other people's stuff because we are sub-letting. It's cool in a lot of ways because we see how we want to do things, how we don't want to do things, what we need, what we don't need.

There are things in this house that I would never put in a house of my own, but no worries, we are just thankful for a roof over our head.

This is our kitchen. It's a very typical Indian kitchen. People here don't put a lot of stock in huge appliances and shiny countertops.

That's Jaya. And I don't know what that chili thing is, that is hanging from the ceiling. One of the things that escaped getting pulled down, I guess.

Here's our room. And a child who snuck into the picture. We would love to paint, but I don't think it will happen in this house.

And our newly acquired crib and shelf. We're stoked about the shelf, a hand-me-down from a neighbor. Needs a little repair, but lovely anyways.

So there you are. Home sweet home.  And a little crib awaiting a sweet baby!

I love your bedspread!

Can't wait to see the new occupant of the crib.

This is such a random thing to de-lurk for, but here it is anyway: Will the crib have a mattress?

Brynne- yes, I will have to have one made for it. Right now it has a very thin mattress.

I love it. Really intricate wood work on the window in the kitchen. It is a window right?

I'm so glad Renee is going to be there when the new baby arrives. That seems like perfect symmetry to me somehow.

And you will have even more help.

Thanks for the pictures.

That kitchen looks perfectly PP. Chilies and all. Not so squat-and-cook as the Village Rest Home we once occupied in Nepal. I love that name. XOXO Thanks for the pictures.

Love what you showed. It looks very quaint and homey - then you have a gift of making a place homey.

I've been lurking at your blog for the past few months, and I enjoy it. I spent a summer in Nepal several years ago and purchased the same elephant sheet-thing you have on the floor in your room. I made a skirt out of it and wear it all the time. Small world...

can't wait to see pictures of the baby in the crib or of mama holding baby, or dad holding baby, it's just so exciting and cozy!

Thank you!

I love seeing the rooms I've been hearing about and I love the new crib.
