December 5 – Let Go.
What (or whom) did you let go of this year? Why?
(Author: Alice Bradley)
This year I have let go of many things.
The only way to do it in true peace is with a whole lot of trust. Trust that God has a clear and graceful path for me to walk down, though it may be hidden in the trees.
I let go of homes, countries, trusting that they will be there for me again.
I let go of people whom I love, trusting that we will have moments of joy together again.
I let go of the dream of my book being discovered, represented. I trust that there is a better way of publication. That something will grow naturally here, something that reflects a new community way of deciding what we read, and the way I've grown up as a writer in this space.
And every single day I let go of brief moments of solitude, trusting that they will be there for me when I am ready. That the chair, the book, the cup of tea, the blank page will be waiting. I throw myself back into the whirl of family and community life, letting go of that girl inside who needs the quiet.
She will be there.
