Waiting for the wisdom to set in

May 11-1

What better way to celebrate a birthday than with a loaf of bread (which is meant to be a portrait of your face) made by your kids (with help) and a vase full of lilacs?

Add Tj's spaghetti and meatballs, bluegrass music played by your friends, a serenade by your husband, and lots of quiet talks, and you have a beautiful birthday dinner.

Thanks for all your good wishes!

Happy, happy birthday, Rae!

And you're just not old enough yet to feel all the wisdom taking over. When you get a bit older (my age?) you'll feel it a bit more. I'm amazed at how wise I am these days! :)

That loaf of portrait- bread is just too fun. Glad you had such a happy, love-blessed birthday.

Happy birthday! It sounds simply wonderful (and wonderfully simple, lol). As a fellow 30 year old, I can this: the 20's, way over-rated. Why, I feel like my youth is just beginning. Like you, I spent my 20's deep in the trenches of motherhood. Now that our baby is 2 and a half, I feel like our ship's finally leaving the harbor, and we're sailing free, together. (uh oh, too many metaphors).
Even though I don't comment a lot, I always read your blog and it always plants a little seed in my heart. Thank you, may the journey continue.
