thankful :: week 5

Tonight, at dinner we had a house full of laughter. Seven people crowded into a hot kitchen, just to keep talking. Swatting at mosquitoes, eating pasta, friends from Germany, France, Spain.
I am so thankful for life here, for this life we lead.
For frogs in the grass.
For Khalifah, spending time with her nephews and nieces, with us.
For Leafy tearing around the house with his bow and a motorcycle helmet.
For tofu stirfry for lunch.

For grace.
For your thankfulness comments last week. They made me love life a little more, seeing it through your eyes.

Play along! Overload the comment box with your thankfulness! Links are welcome.

I want to come hang out in your kitchen! My latest post was inspired by all the things I take for granted here, like trash service and electricity that is always available, running water, etc.
Love to you!

I am thankful for our health and, then, for all the little things we don't ever have to think about.

"Overload the comment box" - you just know I can't resist that!!

I'm so thankful that I can still pop into your blog and see a comment box signed "blackbird". It makes me feel like everything is all right. I can't explain it really, I suppose it's comforting to know that not everything has to change.

I'm thankful for your little note (was it on Facebook? Twitter?) about the peacock feathers you found under the tree. It reminded me of a blog series I wrote 3 years ago titled "The Lady of the Ring" which you (among other bloggers I love) inspired. I had forgotten about it, and it made me smile to be reminded indirectly. Here is the link (you said links are welcome, after all) http://eleanorfromthecommentbox.blogspot.com/2008/10/virtual-inspiration.html

I'm thankful for a really warm church family - we didn't plan to, but stayed after the service to help "green the church" for Christmas. I love connecting with all the different sorts of people and seeing my 2 little ones so comfortable there.

I am thankful for all of the women in my life who mother me, and give me the strength to carry all the things that I am required, as a woman, to carry.

I'm thankful my girly-girls are on their way home from Chicago. I'm excited to see their faces when they smell the simmering soup and homemade bread waiting for them. I'm thankful they will be just as happy to see me as I am to see them. Traveling is so much more bearable when there is love waiting at the destination.

Thanks for the new coffee maker over the kitchen. Thanks to my aunt for a lovely gift. And thanks for you for making this blog as good as always. :)
